Character
11 years old Eun Seob (Jo Hyun Jae) received a great shocked to have witnessed his father fists clutching at a person by the neck. Ever since then, he no longer believes in his father.He left Seoul to lived in France with his mother. Eun Seob grew up and becomes a Pâtissier. He met Lee Soo Ah when was in France.
Ji Yeon Woo (Song Hye Kyo) once grew up happily in a wealthy & loving family.
Her father was a skilled baker and Director to a large ResearchCompany. One day on her birthday, her father dies mysteriously.
Her mother remarried a youngman (Oh Dae Gyoo) of 10 years younger and they had a daughter, named Ye Gang (LeeYongYoo).
Yeon Woo's mother later suffered & died of Wilson Disease . Her step-father ran away with the money leaving Ye Gang behind in Yeon Woo’s care.
Constantly troubled by loansharks, Yeon Woo struggles through her daily life making ends meet as an odd-job worker, while trying to pay off the debts her step-father had piled on her .
Kim Min Ho (Ryu Seung Beom) is Yeon Woo's childhood friend. He had always been by her side through good and bad times. Min Ho becomes a Policeman and vows to catch the murderer that caused the death of Yeon Woo’s father.
Lee Soo Ah is Eun Seob's lover, they met in France.
Returned to Seoul, married & is a proprietress at 'Petit Chou' bakery.
Brief Synopsis 시놉시스
15 years later...
Eun Seob returns from Paris, France. He hopes to stop his lover Lee Soo Ah (Choi Yoo Jung) from marrying another man. However, Soo Ah denies their relationship leaving Eun Seob very upset.
His father learnt of his return & ordered his men to bring Eun Seob back to him.
At the Hotel, Eun Seob recognises the men & managed to free himself from them, leaving him no choice but to spend the night out by the sidewalks.
The next morning, he tries to return to the hotel. Once again the men chased at him, he hops onto a motorcycle ( without wearing a safety helmet ). Now he is not only chased his father’s men but also by the Police.
He tries to flee & head on to the subway.
There was a struggle at the platform. Eun Seob lost his balance falls into the subway track and became unconscious.
Yeon Woo who was there at the scene, jumps in to save his life. with the subway train almost approaching, Min Ho panics and he too tries to save this 'unconscious man'.
When he regained consciousness & explains that he came from France & was putting up at a hotel. Some men came and chased after him. He had no choice but to flee with someone's motorcycle to the subway. Now he is like a fugitive, penniless with no place to go and no family to turn to.
Eun Seob asks Yeon Woo to help & promises compensation at a later time.
Yeon Woo eventually agrees to let him stay at her house for a while.
One day, Ye Gang falls very ill and is hospitalised.
Yeon Woo decides to sell their home to raise money for her sister's surgery.
Eun Seob asks Yeon Woo to reconsider her decision. He believes there's a way and recommends Yeon Woo to work with him at Soo Ah’s Bakery - Petit Chou.
Gradually their relationship became closer and Eun Seob slowly begins letting go of his bitter past.
Police investigations found evidence & person related to the death of Yeon Woo’s father.
Min Ho is in dilemma over the evidence & his friendship with Eun Seob.
Eun Seob finds himself trapped within the situation that comes in between his love for Yeon Woo.
