Hallyu star Song Seung-heon participated in helping the Japanese earthquake victims by contributing.
Song Seung-heon contributed 200 million won (~$US200,000) to the Salvation Army last 14th.
The Salvation Army commander Park Man-hee conveyed his appreciation saying, "Song Seung-heon had been meaning to make a contribution to Japan so when he heard news about the Salvation Army donations for the first time in 83 years, he contacted us and made the contribution. His true heart and worrying about helping the Japanese was passed on as he personally deposited the money to the Japan Emergency Donation account".
Through the Salvation Army, Song Seung-heon said, "With the Salvation Army donation, I hope this comforts the Japanese and be of some help. I hope my donation causes a wave of donations and participate in the Salvation Army donations that's going on throughout March".
Meanwhile, on the 11th an earthquake the scale of 9.0 hit Miyagi, northeast of Tokyo, Japan, causing buildings to shake for several minutes in nearby city Tokyo and citizens to evacuate to a safer location.
There have been many injuries and deaths after the earthquake and radiation exposure has also occurred with the nuclear plant as an effect of the earthquake.

한류스타 송승헌이 일본 지진 피해자들을 돕기 위한 기부 행렬에 동참했다.
송승헌은 14일 오후 9시께 일본 지진 피해를 돕기 위해 모금 행사를 벌이고 있는 구세군 자선냄비에 2억원의 성금을 기부했다.
구세군 박만희 사령관은 "송승헌씨가 이번 일본긴급기부에 대해 적은 돈이라도 함께 기부에 동참하고 싶었던 차에 83년 만에 처음 3월에 나온 구세군 자선냄비 긴급모금 소식을 접하고 구세군에 전화를 걸어 기부에 동참하게 되었다"며 "무엇보다 송승헌씨 본인이 직접 구세군 일본긴급모금 계좌로 모금액을 입금하는 등 직접 모금에 동참하고자 함으로 일본의 피해를 걱정하는 그의 뜻과 마음이 더 크게 전달되었다"고 감사의 마음을 전했다.
송승헌은 구세군을 통해 "너무나 가슴 아픈 일에 구세군 자선냄비를 통해 조금이나 보탬이 돼 일본국민들에게 위로가 되었으면 한다. 저의 작은 기부가 다른 많은 분들에게도 기부 물결이 일어나서 일본긴급모금을 위해 3월에 진행하는 구세군 자선냄비에 함께 동참해 주시길 바랄뿐"이라고 소감을 밝혔다.
앞서 배용준, 류시원, 장근석, 김현중이 일본 지진 피해자들을 위한 기부를 했다.
한편 지난 11일 오후 규모 9.0의 강진이 일본 도쿄 북동부 미야기현을 강타, 400Km 가까이 떨어진 도쿄시내의 건물들도 수분 간 흔들리고 시민들은 안전한 장소로 대피하는 소동을 벌였다.
특히 지진 후 수많은 인명피해가 집계되고 있으며 후쿠야마현 원자력 발전소가 지진 피해로 방사능 누출 사고가 발생했다.
